Cougars
So I was reading article online today about women cougars. These are older women who date younger men. There was even a special on E about the top women cougars. Why don't older men who date younger women have a nickname like this? I mean look at Hugh Hefner...he dates women who are more than half his age. What do you think about this? Is it wrong for women to be singled out like this? Why is it such a big deal for a women to date a younger man but not for an older man to date a younger woman?

I always thought that that was odd too. I even tried to come up with examples of names people call men who date younger women. The ones that seemed to come up the most were "lech" or "perv" both derogatory terms that counter balance the woman's "gold digger".
My question is why does society put such a stigma on age differences in relationships? man or woman?
I hadn't ever heard of this before now...and I hadn't ever heard of women being scrutinized for dating younger men at all. I have heard of women who date older men being called "gold diggers" a lot of the time. But that also makes me wonder why men are never scrutinized in either case?!
I think it is made to be a bigger deal because attractive older women are harder to find, according to our society's standards. Men stereotypically age better than women, and make more money than women, so why wouldn't they date younger, energetic women?
A rich, attractive, single older woman is harder to come by.
